Our classic, federal home was built in 1824 by Mr. Frederick Lewis. He sold it to William 0. Poor, owner of the oldest drug store in the state of Maine. Mr. Poor married a lady whose first name was Wealthy. Thus we are the proud owners of the 180 year old Wealthy Poor House!
Belfast is the perfect location for exploring Maine's midcoast area from Rockland to Bar Harbor, both an hour away. The center of town and the water are just three block walk away, past some lovely old homes on "The Museum of the Street" trail. We hope you will enjoy your stay with us.
