Alden House B & B
Walk to everything in Belfast! This beautiful Greek Revival home on historic Church Street was built in 1840 with great attention to architectural detail including stately columns, high ceilings, carved moldings and imported German silver hardware on the doors and windows. Stroll to Main Street and relish in our storefronts of fine eateries, eclectic galleries and view magnificent Penobscot Bay sunrises and sets. Enjoy our hand carved elliptical cherry staircase, the many marble fireplaces, handsome library, spacious twin parlors, cozy conversation area on the second floor landing and our peaceful porch and gazebo overlooking the gardens. Begin your morning with a sumptuous, full breakfast featuring fresh baked goods, Maine produce and products prepared and served by your hosts. On cool evenings and mornings a crackling fire will greet you in one or more of our marble fireplaces. "Your Enjoyment Is Our Pleasure!"

I stayed at the Alden House in October of 2006. Deborah and Ted Hensley couldn't have been more warm and welcoming. The house is, in a word, stunning. There is coffee waiting in the library at all hours, and the breakfasts I enjoyed there were SO tasty - and I've had your standard bed and breakfast meals many times before, so I know what I'm talking about! Deborah clearly works hard to find that perfect balance between gourmet and down-home. The innkeepers keep the house beautifully - the bathroom in our suite was spic n span - something I am particularly fussy about! And that wrap around porch! I couldn't have been more relaxed as I lounged. The Hensley's also are extremely knowledgeable about Belfast and what there is to do and see there. I'll be back!
