The Copper Heron Bed and Breakfast
The Copper Heron Bed and Breakfast is a carefully renovated, 1840’s vintage Greek Revival style B&B located in historic Unity, the hub of Maine’s organic farming community. Four spacious and comfortable guest rooms are furnished with queen size beds and have a private baths. The guest parlor has cable T.V. with VCR DVD and a music system. A large landscaped garden with its gazebo is a welcome retreat during warmer seasons and a good start for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter.
Full breakfasts focus on natural foods prepared from “scratch” with vegetarian and vegan needs accommodated. Dinners are available upon request. Open all year, in summer our guests take advantage of swimming, kayaking, canoeing or boating on beautiful Lake Winnecook and the weekly farmer's market, featuring prize winning members of MOFGA. Well maintained trails are used year round. Other area attractions include: Unity College, the Unity Performing Arts Center. the historic Belfast and Moosehead Lake Railroad and Museum and the Unity Performing Arts Center.

A Home Away From Home

My wife and I have visited the Copper Heron on several of our trips to visit family in Maine. We have found it to be a true highlight each and every trip. The Copper Heron is far enough from tourism to allow for a quiet walk through the beautiful town but close enough to allow for easy day trips the Belfast and Camden (two of our favorite stops). The decor in each of the rooms is beautiful and the beds are always welcoming after a long day of visiting with family. The breakfast are gourmet style and are always surprising. This bed and breakfast is a true example of the beauty of what Maine has to offer.
