Ursa Beckford, Maine's finest bagpiper, will perform in Freedom on May 6 at 7 pm at the Freedom Grange. Ursa, aged 17, is an award winning and thoroughly entertaining musician. Ursa brings an expressiveness to his music that is remarkable. He is a joy to watch and to listen to and his audiences are always mesmerized by his swift fingers, tapping feet and beautiful, singing pipes. This fun-filled event will be hosted by Village Farm and will feature Ursa on bagpipes but the audience will also be entertained by several other fabulous youth performers. And there will be John's Ice Cream for sale at intermission! Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children, all proceeds go to benefit Ursa's trip to Sweden this summer as a delegate to the World Scout Jamboree.
