The Story of Aina Moja
Beverly Stone established Aina Moja in 1997 as a small business venture aimed at assisting native artisans in Kenya, Africa. Beverly became interested in Kenya when she was a volunteer for The Teachers for Africa Program. While teaching, she saw a great need for social, economic and educational opportunities for the people of Kenya. She felt that one way to advance their standard of living was to sell their products abroad. Artisans whose products are sold through Aina Moja receive fair market value for their arts and crafts. Beverly’s efforts are enhancing the awareness of their goods and products, increasing their sales and advancing their standard of living.

Expanding Opportunities: encouraging self sufficiency through educational and charitable projects.

In 1999, Beverly founded Expanding Opportunities (EO) as a non-profit organization with the greater mission of assisting all underprivileged people in Africa. In 2000, EO purchased Aina Moja, utilizing its profits to fund EO’s various programs, including the Street Children Fund and the Distance Learning Centers.
